Build Bone Density & Strength Naturally

SPECTRUM - our Osteogenic Loading Technology

OsteoStrong is a unique place where you can go to improve your overall health by focusing on your skeletal system through Osteogenic Loading.  â€‹

What is Osteogenic Loading?  Weight-bearing activity is critical for bone health. The stress on the bones that results from weight-bearing activities stimulates bone building. The amount of weight-bearing that causes this response from the bone is called “osteogenic loading” because it takes a certain “load” to stimulate the bone-building cells.

OsteoStrong’s state of the art technology, SPECTRUM, consists of 4 devices that are used once a week, for 10 minutes to stimulate osteogenic loading in a safe and painless environment. At the OsteoStrong Missoula Center, we will work with you to help you experience a positive change to your skeletal system to improve your bone density, muscular strength, balance, and overall health.

Our program is based on a scientific concept from the 1800s called Wolff’s law, which states that bone adapts under the load that is placed upon it.  From this law, another study was done in 2012 by Deere and Tobias showing that it required a minimum of 4.2 MOB to trigger osteogenesis/bone building in the hip and pelvic region. This trigger is achieved through an activity called osteogenic loading - which leads to our body’s adaptive response to stimulate bone building cells to remodel and become stronger - this is what we do here at OsteoStrong.   And as your bone health increases so do your joints, muscles, strength, posture and more!  Check out our research section below for more in-depth research data.

OsteoStrong sessions utilize a series of devices that allow axial compression of bone to emulate the effect of impact, which is called Osteogenic Loading. Because of the optimized positioning of the human body, loading forces go through the human bone that are far higher than those seen in daily activity or weight training. Heavy loading is already understood and recommended by all international bodies of medical education, but at OsteoStrong, we make it safer.

In fact, we’ve known for over 100 years that Osteogenic Loading works. In the late 1800’s, Dr. Julius Wolff discovered that bones will adapt to the loads under which they are placed (Wolff’s Law). What we didn’t know until the 2012 Deere & Tobias study (below) was that there is a minimum threshold to triggering osteogenesis. 4.2 multiples of your body weight is the minimum required force to trigger bone growth in the hip joint (the most important place to avoid fracture) and peak forces with adults in conventional resistance exercise only show 1.26 to 1.54 multiples of body weight. The Surgeon General stated that increases in bone mineral density to prevent or reverse the effects of osteoporosis are stimulated by maximum loading on the musculoskeletal system. Regular, proper use of the OsteoStrong System enables the user to safely achieve such maximum loading, and therefore helps combat the effects of osteoporosis.
